I have had a bit of a clean out, S-Gear 2, Revalver 3dot5 and 4, Guitar Rig 5, Recabinet 4, Vandal, AmpLion Pro (rolls eye's) have all been removerd, I'm just keeping BIAS Amp Pro, BIAS FX Pro, TH2, the Kuassa Amps, TSE, GTR 3.5 and a few excellent freebies like Ignite Amps and LePou. So I have now removed AmpliTube 3 and 4 and all associated stuff, I won't be updating them any longer or maintaining them or spending any more time money on them, I had hoped, but unfortunately AmpliTube just isn't up there with leaders of the pack in my view. And to whoever it was above who suggested a price of $49 or whatever for AmpliTube 4, I'd say yeah, that would be about right.
#OPEN AMPLITUBE 3 PROJECTS IN AMPLITUBE 4 FULL#
I said earlier that I wouldn't have paid full price of $149 for AmpliTube 4, and that I wasn't sure if the pre order price $99 was worth it, well, if I had my time over again, I would just skip it all together, it's not really worth it to me, I have stuff which is so much better, stuff I can get far better tones out of.
And it's not just sound, it's a feel as well if that makes sense. I see a lot of people who like Amp3/4's Fender amps, I have never liked them, in fact always thought they sounded like sh!te, so I fired up a '67 Blackface and a '59 Tweed Deluxe in BIAS FX Pro, played them for a while and compared them to the Fender Collection, again, to my ears there is no comparison, the difference to me is immediate and unmistakable, it just sounds better, a better quality of sound, I don't know, that's the best I can describe it, whether or not 1 or the other sounds more authentic or not, I don't know, and whether or not they are modeled after a certain amp or not I don't know, but it's easy to tell they were both shooting for a similar target, and to be honest it doesn't matter to me whether the BIAS FX Pro version was modeled after a falling tree branch, the fact is it just sounds better, full stop. What I did find is that after a couple of days just playing with AmpliTube 4, when I switched to BIAS FX Pro, the difference was immediate, it's like a slap in the face, BIAS just sounds better straight up, better sound quality, just better is all I can say.
I think AmpliTube 4 is certainly better than, a step up from AmpliTube 3, I was never that keen on AmpliTube 3 to start with, although I do like the Orange Collection and a few other amps like the ENGL, Soldano, and a few more. I didn't mind the Red Pig, and the Brit Silver, but apart from that I didn't think much of the other amps. Well I gave it a good bash for a couple of days, didn't do much more comparing against AmpliTube 3 after the initial comparison with the Mesa/Boogie, which did sound better to me in AmpliTube 4.
